About

So Jeong Kim was born in South Korea, 2000 and she is currently studying at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore where it demands critical thinking, independent research and contemporary contextualisation of an individual's interests. Starting her artistic journey in 2016, the desire to create art that she attained soon became an unyielding obligation to herself to explore the inner mechanism of her creative consciousness.

From small sketches to large scale projects, her art is a highly-personal reflection of herself. Her works are based on realism where she focuses on unembellished depiction of nature or of contemporary life. She likes to experiment with oil paintings on different mediums such as wood, plastic, newspaper and canvas. She is continuously trying out different skills and methods to expand her boundaries.

She has been lucky enough to have participated in many art competitions in Singapore and China. She showcased her paintings at the NUH Eye Charity Art Exhibition in 2016 and the Seoul In Love exhibition held at Takashimaya in 2017. This has solidified her reputation in the art world. She also participated in the International children's calligraphy art contest twice and won a gold medal and a bronze medal in 2017.
